Learning about worms is really just an excuse for eating Dirt Cups! This higher protein take on an old favorite is sure to please moms and kids. Tastes like peanut butter pie, but won’t spike your blood sugar.

What You Need

1/2 cup Good Culture cottage cheese

1/2 cup heavy whipping cream

2 tablespoons sugar or honey

1/2 cup real peanut butter

1/2 cup vanilla Greek yogurt

1 cup cookie crumbles (for more wholesome ingredient lists, try Simple Mills Crunchy Cookies, Siete Mexican Shortbread Cookies, or Happy Family Organic Multi-Grain Cookies)

What You Do

  1. In a glass mixing bowl or large food processor, whip together the heavy whipping cream, cottage cheese, and sugar or honey. Beat for about 5 minutes until the mixture is smooth and fluffy.

  2. Beat in the peanut butter.

  3. Fold in the Greek yogurt.

  4. Place 1/3 cup portions in small glass or ramekin cups.

  5. Let your child help you crush cookies into a bowl and help you sprinkle this “dirt” on top of the peanut butter fluff “ground.”

  6. Refrigerate for 2-4 hours.

  7. If you’re okay with your child eating a worm, cut a Twin Snake in half and gently push it down into the cup.
