Saucy Baked Salmon

What You'll Need

1 full filet fresh salmon

4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter

1/4 cup sweet chili sauce

1/4 cup bourbon chicken or teriyaki sauce

1/4 cup ginger dressing

1 heaping tablespoon fresh, finely minced garlic

Light shakes of garlic salt and seasoned salt

Lemon or orange half, seeds removed, to squeeze over the top

What You'll Do:

  1. Place butter and garlic in a large casserole dish. Place in oven preheated to 365 degrees. Let melt for 5-7 minutes.

  2. While the butter is melting, whisk together the sauces.

  3. Remove the dish from the oven with mitts and place on a hot trivet for next steps.

  4. Place the salmon, top side down, in the hot butter and move it around to coat it with butter. Then flip the piece of fish over.

  5. Wash your hands.

  6. Pour the sauce in a line down the center of the salmon. Spread the sauce around as evenly as you can. Spritz some citrus on before or after cooking (personal preference).

  7. Place the salmon back in the oven with mitts. Bake for 25-29 minutes, until a meat thermometer reads at least 145 degrees F in the thickest piece. Do not overbake salmon. It can become dry. You don’t want the white protein raising up between the flakes, but you also don’t want it to be raw inside.

  8. If you have a smaller center-cut piece (2-3 servings), half the butter, sauce, and spices. Reduce the time to 20-25 minutes.
